  • "I had the privilege of working with Abby during what was unfortunately a harrowing postpartum time with my second child. Abby provided an immediate sense of relief, calm and comfort - putting our entire family at ease with her natural ability to care for our son, but even more, to support us during an emotionally trying and complex time. Abby is knowledgeable, has a magic touch with babies, she is well-connected to helpful resources and is flexible, yet insightful in her approach. I would hands down recommend Abby to anyone looking for doula or sleep support! "

    -Liz L.

  • "Abby has been such a big help to my growing little family over the past few months! As a first time mom, she made bringing my newborn home less stressful by providing expert guidance and suggestions for setting up his nursery and getting things in order before his arrival. After he was born, she provided ongoing support - patiently answering all of my questions, helping with baby care, laundry, and dishes, supporting me with breastfeeding, and providing a listening ear when new motherhood felt stressful. Now that my son is almost four months old, we are preparing to say goodbye to Abby as our postpartum doula, but we will miss her! She always brings a smile to my son's face when she arrives, and I feel confident and comfortable leaving him in her care so I can take a nap or shower, go grocery shopping, or catch up on other things that need to get done. She is an excellent communicator, detail-oriented, knowledgeable in all things baby and postpartum, and a kind, sweet soul who cares deeply about her work with babies and new moms. Hiring Abby was one of the best things I did to prepare for my postpartum journey. Her care and support made the entire experience so much more calm, joyful, and happy than I could have hoped for!"

    -Rachel V.

  • "You often hear about labor and deliver doulas, but less often do you hear about a postpartum doula. As new parents, we found this to be exceptionally helpful while finding our daily rhythm as new parents. As a new mother, I found it to be the extra layer of support and care I needed to feel at peace amongst big change, while also physically healing from delivery. Abby is nurturing in her approach as a doula, and a resourceful wealth of knowledge. She leans in with compassion, she stays curious, and truly advocates for momma and baby. Abby never pushes agenda, she provides helpful insight and leaves you feeling understood. She is a treasure to have around and in your corner! You will find yourself parting with a new best friend as well.. ??"

    -Laney L.

  • "Me and my husband recently had our baby in early Sept 2024, and had hired a traditional chinese doula to take care of me during the 40 day confinement. However, we wanted to have Abby help us with the more modern and up-to-date learnings as well as sleep training. Abby was attentive and always asked how we were doing as well as if there was anything we could do to help. Her gentle and accepting method of instructing us helped induce confidence that what we were doing was right for our baby and if there were any uncertainty in our thoughts that we were free to reach out to her. There were some scheduling acrobats we had to do due to having our traditional doula and Abby was more than happy to accommodate and work with our schedule. Abby offers classes for sleep training, and at the end of ours she provided a sleep plan for our baby. The sleep plan was thorough and covered the ages for our baby up to 3+ years, so we didn't feel like it was lacking. It was clear and provided simple focuses for us. Thank you Abby!"

    -Crystal K.

  • "Having Abby as our nanny during our daughter's first year and a half was an absolute blessing. From day one, she brought warmth, expertise, and a nurturing presence into our home. Especially during those early transformative months of uncertainty and anxiety, with her deep understanding of infant care, gentle approach, and unwavering patience, she was able to give us peace of mind as new parents. Beyond her diverse skillset to help raise our daughter and help her in meeting all milestones, it was clear that Abby has a true calling and gift for supporting families. Her ability to anticipate both our baby's needs and our own was invaluable, making the transition into parenthood so much smoother (and far less daunting). As she steps into her full-time role as a doula, I have no doubt she will continue to positively impact families with her compassion, wisdom, and calm presence. I wholeheartedly recommend Abby to any family looking for an experienced, nurturing, and knowledgeable support person during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. She is truly one of a kind and we are so thankful for her!"

    -Samantha M.

  • "Abby is thoughtful, kind, and patient - she's the kind of support system every parent deserves. She makes me feel seen, heard, and cared for. Her patience and gentle presence brought so much peace to our home! She's the best!"

 FAQs

  • A postpartum doula supports the whole family during those tender early weeks and months after baby arrives. That might look like helping with newborn care, offering emotional support, answering your questions, holding space for your experience, and making sure you have what you need to rest and recover. I’m here to care for you so you can care for your baby. Doula support isn’t one-size-fits-all, every family has different needs, values, dynamics, and experiences. As your doula, I am here to meet you where you’re at and support you in the way that feels good to YOU.

  • Postpartum support is more than just helping with the day-to-day, it’s about empowering you to feel confident and cared for as you navigate this new chapter. Parents hire postpartum doulas for a variety of reasons, here are a few of the most common:

    • Parents may be new to the world of babies & value guidance, education, and reassurance.

    • Doulas allow parents to prioritize rest & recovery after birth.

    • Having an extra set of hands to help with baby care, household tasks, etc. can reduce stress and overwhelm.

    • The calm presence of someone who is familiar with newborns, postpartum, and everything that comes with it can be comforting to nervous new parents.

    • Parents value having a trusted expert around to answer questions, provide resources, and offer referrals to other professionals.

    • Doulas are an unbiased safe space. Family support can be amazing, but it can also come with complicated feelings and dynamics. Doulas are there to provide judgement-free support that aligns with your values and parenting choices.

  • Unlike a nanny or sitter who is primarily focused on baby, a postpartum doula is focused on the entire family's well-being. I’m here to support your transition, answer questions, offer reassurance, and help you feel more confident and cared for. Doula support includes education, referrals, and emotional support as well as practical support, I don’t just “watch the baby”—I’m part of your village, walking alongside you through the ups and downs of new parenthood as a resource and confidante.

  • There are so many fantastic doulas out there (especially in the greater Seattle area!), it can be hard to choose! Most families consider a variety of factors when it comes to choosing a doula based on their own personal needs and preferences. I personally think the most important factor when choosing a doula is finding someone that you “click” with. Someone who makes you feel safe, heard, and cared for. Someone who you feel comfortable showing up as your most vulnerable self with. Experience and other factors are valuable, but the connection and trust you feel with someone should be #1.

Parents who choose to work with me tend to appreciate my calm and nurturing nature, friendly & positive personality, confidence around babies, sleep expertise, open-mindedness and open communication. You can read what previous clients have to say about working with me on the “Testimonials” tab at the top of the page.

Looking for a doula but don’t think we’re the right fit? No problem, I totally understand! Doula support isn’t one-size-fits-all and it is important to me that you are supported by the person who feels right to you. I love connecting with other birthworkers and would be happy to pass along the names of trusted colleagues who might feel like a better fit :)

  • I typically work with postpartum clients Monday-Friday between the hours of 7am and 4pm. I book clients on a first-come-first-serve basis, so my availability varies based on current bookings. Daytime postpartum shifts are typically between 4 and 6 hours long, 2-5 days per week.

  • This is a difficult decision for most families, as every birth, baby, and recovery are different and there are so many unknowns!

I typically work with one postpartum family at a time, which allows for flexibility to accommodate changing and unexpected needs. Many families find themselves wanting more support than they expected, so this approach allows the option of adding on more hours as needed.

To secure my services, I have a minimum booking requirement of 12 hours per week for 4 weeks+ weeks, or 10 hours per week for 8+ weeks. I work with clients 2-5 days per week for 4-6 hour shifts.

  • I am based in Edmonds and currently offer in-person postpartum support to families in parts of King and Snohomish counties. I work with families as far north as South Everett, down to Downtown Seattle, and on the Eastside. If you’re unsure of whether you live in my service range- just reach out! I’d be happy to answer your questions and can occasionally be flexible depending on your location.

  • At this time, I only offer daytime postpartum shifts. I do offer occasional overnight support to sleep clients depending on circumstances, but I am happy to refer you to several other wonderful doulas who offer overnight postpartum support :)

  • Daytime postpartum support is an investment of $75 per hour.

As a Certified Postpartum Doula I am eligible for Carrot and several other reimbursement programs.

  • Head over to the “Contact” tab at the top of this page or click the “Book a Consultation” button below. There you will find an inquiry form to fill out.
