By providing hands-on, personalized support tailored to your family’s unique needs, I’m here to ease the transition.

Support Breakdown

Every family’s needs are different, which is why no two shifts look the same. Daytime Postpartum Support can include:

  • Parent Education: I’ll provide guidance on baby care basics, infant development, sleep, feeding, cues, and all the little tricks I’ve learned along the way. I’m here to meet you where you’re at and instill confidence in your abilities as a parent.

  • Parent Care: I’ll help you prioritize your recovery by ensuring you’re fed, hydrated, and rested. I’ll also be on the lookout for signs of physical or emotional concerns and hold your hand through the many changes parents face postpartum.

  • Emotional Support: The postpartum period is an emotional time for most families, I’m here as a safe space to express and talk through it all. I want to know how you’re REALLY doing. You don’t have to put on a brave face, answer politely, or put yourself together when I come over. I’m here to sit with you in the vulnerable moments, provide a listening ear, reassurance, and encouragement as you navigate the ups and downs of early parenthood. I’ll be on the lookout for any potential signs of PMADS (Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders) and can offer appropriate referrals when needed.

  • Feeding Support: I’ll offer guidance with breastfeeding, bottle-feeding, or pumping- offering tips to make feeding smoother and referrals to lactation consultants for challenges beyond my scope.

  • Baby Care: While my goal is to facilitate the bond between you and baby, I’m happy to help care for your little one whenever you’re feeling “touched out” or in need of a break! I’ll never say no to newborn snuggles!

  • Light Household Assistance: I’m here to reduce overwhelm and take things off your plate. I’m happy to assist with light household tasks such as washing bottles/pump parts, throwing in a load of laundry, tidying up, meal prepping, etc. to give you space to bond with your baby and focus on your well-being.

  • Family-Centered Support: Doula care is for the whole family, I’m here to make sure every member feels heard and supported. This includes helping siblings adjust to a new family member, finding ways to make non-birthing parents feel included & bonded, and talking through ever-changing relationship dynamics.

FAQ’s

  • A postpartum doula supports the whole family during those tender early weeks and months after baby arrives. That might look like helping with newborn care, offering emotional support, answering your questions, holding space for your experience, and making sure you have what you need to rest and recover. I’m here to care for you so you can care for your baby. Doula support isn’t one-size-fits-all, every family has different needs, values, dynamics, and experiences. As your doula, I am here to meet you where you’re at and support you in the way that feels good to YOU.

  • Postpartum support is more than just helping with the day-to-day, it’s about empowering you to feel confident and cared for as you navigate this new chapter. Parents hire postpartum doulas for a variety of reasons, here are a few of the most common:

    • Parents may be new to the world of babies & value guidance, education, and reassurance.

    • Doulas allow parents to prioritize rest & recovery after birth.

    • Having an extra set of hands to help with baby care, household tasks, etc. can reduce stress and overwhelm.

    • The calm presence of someone who is familiar with newborns, postpartum, and everything that comes with it can be comforting to nervous new parents.

    • Parents value having a trusted expert around to answer questions, provide resources, and offer referrals to other professionals.

    • Doulas are an unbiased safe space. Family support can be amazing, but it can also come with complicated feelings and dynamics. Doulas are there to provide judgement-free support that aligns with your values and parenting choices.

  • Unlike a nanny or sitter who is primarily focused on baby, a postpartum doula is focused on the entire family's well-being. I’m here to support your transition, answer questions, offer reassurance, and help you feel more confident and cared for. Doula support includes education, referrals, and emotional support as well as practical support, I don’t just “watch the baby”—I’m part of your village, walking alongside you through the ups and downs of new parenthood as a resource and confidante.

  • There are so many fantastic doulas out there (especially in the greater Seattle area!), it can be hard to choose! Most families consider a variety of factors when it comes to choosing a doula based on their own personal needs and preferences. I personally think the most important factor when choosing a doula is finding someone that you “click” with. Someone who makes you feel safe, heard, and cared for. Someone who you feel comfortable showing up as your most vulnerable self with. Experience and other factors are valuable, but the connection and trust you feel with someone should be #1.

Parents who choose to work with me tend to appreciate my calm and nurturing nature, friendly & positive personality, confidence around babies, sleep expertise, open-mindedness and open communication. You can read what previous clients have to say about working with me on the “Testimonials” tab at the top of the page.

Looking for a doula but don’t think we’re the right fit? No problem, I totally understand! Doula support isn’t one-size-fits-all and it is important to me that you are supported by the person who feels right to you. I love connecting with other birthworkers and would be happy to pass along the names of trusted colleagues who might feel like a better fit :)

  • I typically work with postpartum clients Monday-Friday between the hours of 7am and 7pm. I book clients on a first-come-first-serve basis, so my availability varies based on current bookings. Daytime postpartum shifts are typically between 4 and 6 hours long, 1-4 days per week.

  • I currently offer in-person postpartum support to families in parts of King and Snohomish counties. • At this time, I only offer daytime postpartum shifts. I do offer occasional overnight support to sleep clients depending on circumstances, but I am happy to refer you to several other wonderful doulas who offer overnight postpartum support :)
